The Twilight saga continues as fans return to locations used in the original film in anticipation of the upcoming premiere of New Moon.
The sequel premieres nationwide on Nov. 19, and that Thursday through Sunday, the town of St.Helens, Ore. (about 40 minutes north of Portland) will be consumed by Twilight activities. “Experience New Moon” will include a VIP party, Twilight trivia, Quileute storytelling, live music inspired by the movie and, of course, the New Moon premiere at the Columbia Theatre. Fans can walk to film locations only blocks from the theater, such as Bella Swan’s father’s house, the Thunderbird and Whale Bookstore building, the famous alleyway used in the chase scene, and Angel Hair Salon, which stood in for the dress shop “Petite Jolie.”
Miles up the Columbia River in the Gorge, the View Point Inn has put together a very special evening for the night of the New Moon premiere. The inn will be lit up as it was in the finale prom scene in Twilight, complete with red carpet. Guests will enjoy a four-course dinner inspired by the movie (including Bella’s favorite, forest mushroom ravioli) while Twilight plays on large screens in the dining room. Then, in nearby Gresham, a private screening room will be reserved for the midnight showing of New Moon.
This sounds like a fabulous week for Twilighters. Which event to attend? If you’re a super Twilight fan … do both!
