How do you spell “syzygy”?

My 15 minutes of fame turned into an unexpected hour on stage at “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” at Portland Center Stage. Not being the shy, retiring type I signed up in the lobby to be part of the show and lo and behold, I was selected to participate in the Bee and be part of the show. Little did I know I would be on for an hour. What a complete blast I had!
This show is fun and touching and full of music and dance — I was even up there dancing my part. More of the unexpected fun. Catch it while you can. It’s running through June 27, and you too can join the spelling bee.
The actors in the show (the real ones) made me feel welcome and part of the action. Each one had a voice and could use it.
At the after-party I felt like a star, at least for one night. A few people who came up to me didn’t know if I was part of the cast or not — or if I could really spell or not!
